Well, Alex and Annie won 11-9 against Rob and Anne at the Wyckoff Courts on Saturday morning, and I brought lemon bars for everyone afterward because they all looked so tired!

Now, I know Rob and Anne tried their very best, and honestly I thought they were winning for most of the game. Rob has such a powerful serve, reminds me of when he used to throw snowballs at the mailbox when he was little. And Anne was running all over that court like she was chasing butterflies! They got up to 9 points and I was clapping so loud.

But then Alex and Annie, oh those two sweethearts, they just kept fighting back. Annie told me afterward that her left arm was getting tired, which makes sense because she uses that arm for everything. Alex said something about the wind changing direction in the third quarter, though I'm not sure paddleball has quarters, does it? Anyway, they scored those last few points when it really mattered.

The whole thing happened at this Saturday Morning Hangover Showdown event, which is a funny name if you ask me. I hope none of my grandchildren are actually hungover! I made coffee cake just in case anyone needed settling.

Rob was very gracious after the match. He gave Alex a big hug and said something about angles and kitchen rules, which confused me a bit because I didn't see anyone cooking out there. Anne mentioned she thinks they should practice their returns more, and I told her that was very smart thinking.

The weather was just perfect, maybe 68 degrees, and Mrs. Henderson's tabby was watching from the fence the whole time. That cat loves sports almost as much as I love watching you kids play! Win or lose, you're all champions to me, and there's banana bread waiting at my house for anyone who wants to stop by!
