In yet another demonstration of how not to communicate on a pickleball court, Ann and Florence managed to lose to Becky and Teresa with a score of 11-8. Yes, despite the odds–and all laws of probability–Becky and Teresa came out on top, while Ann and Florence stole the show with their comedic missteps.

The match began like any other: two teams entered the court full of hope and dreams. For Ann and Florence, those aspirations promptly imploded once it became apparent that their communication was mostly shouting each other's names in fear. The duo could have stopped playing entirely for all the impact their strategy had.

At one point, Florence advanced towards an incoming shot with what could only be described as misplaced confidence. She hit the ball with gusto–unjustified but confident nonetheless. It didn't matter much as the net remains undefeated, adding yet another victim to its long list when her rally attempt crashed spectacularly.

Meanwhile, Becky and Teresa executed plays that occasionally bordered on competence. Each successful return seemed less a product of skill and more a consequence of Ann and Florence's turmoil on the court. Their doubles communication was nothing short of calamitous; their doubles communication was mostly just synchronized panicking over even the most predictable volleys.

And then there was that defining moment when Ann aimed high but, predictably, landed somewhere between embarrassment and science fiction. With each failed retrieval attempt, one couldn't help but think maybe some things are better left untried.

The game ended as it began: abruptly and without warning. The replay footage has been classified as a controlled substance.
