That 11-2 second game was a war crime disguised as pickleball. John's returns had less spin than a drying mop, while Wilson's serve was so soft, it practically apologized before crossing the net.

John's rallies lasted as long as a sneeze, and even that might be giving him too much credit. After the first game, John and Wilson forgot how to score, evidently leaving their skills in the car along with their dignity. Sarah's drop shot broke Wilson's will to live, and David had more aces than Wilson had volleys.

In the end, Sarah and David left their opponents not just pickled, but jarred. John and Wilson probably went home to practice crying.
